As I sat in a huge lecture hall in a neuro biology graduate school classroom, the professor showed us a brain cell, a neuron.
I looked at it's complexity, and it's function, and it hit me like a locomotive, IT's A DESIGN!!!
That simple middle of the Bible scriptire, John Chapter three, verse sixteen, answers the three big questions of who we are, why we are here, and where we are going. What if you gain the whole world and lose your soul? I look at my hand and I see a DESIGN!! King David said "I am fearfully and wonderfully MADE..." The Bible says that even the hairs of our head are NUMBERED...my bretheren, THAT means that we were manufactured, created, given a measure of life...we ARE sensient, thinking beings with limited life spans on this Earth. Now what do we do with that profound theory?
Do you prefer to believe that you and I descended from one celled animals from some primordial sewer? Can you so easily be told a huge lie and then not only believe it but preach it? ARE you that decieved?
Look at your hand, it's your fingerprints, your DNA is totally unique to YOU. The miracles that are alive in you are without end...you ARE a walking, living, breathing, miracle of God's Creative will for you to be here! I believe that is what it's all about. I see God's signature everywhere. This God knows my name and He knows YOUR name.
The word says that every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus is The Eternal Son of The Living God. I already know that Jesus is Lord...I've read the book, I know how it all ends...why we are here, who we are, and where we are going. Some of us to an incredible future, some of us to outer darkness, eternal pain without end, that will never ever ever ever end...a place called hell...
So I say, do some study, make a choice, and ponder the awful thought of being wrong...May God bless you in your quest.
Meanwhile, God has blessed me and my career so much. He gave me the gift of the voice...that has sustained me...the first fruits of that incredible set of pipes, was singing in church. God blessed that offering, and gave me the voice...an incredible baritone/bass that has been God's gift to me and my family...it is the very heart of my career and my business.
Is it about living a perfect life? What if you like a beer or a glass of wine now and then? Our Lord drank wine, people! It's so NOT about US it's about HIM and what happened on an awful but glorious day on the cross. We celebrate the birth of Jesus during the holiday season, and some of are so bold as to call it Christmas season. Then there comes Easter!
My Christmas cards say Merry Christmas! I am not ashamed of my faith...what me worthy of God's Love? No, not a chance, I am the most unworthy of souls, but I am forgiven...and I know where I'm going and what my future is...both here and now and when I die...HE LIVES! *and because HE lives, we all have a hope in the eternal future of mankind.
