Ralph Allen Media ...

...when you REALLY need a pro!

We would love to have the opportunity to work with you on telling your unique story!
We primarily focus on being very very sure that the articulated message is delivered professionally and "naturally". The things than make the human voice so compelling and so absolutely profound, are the pauses, the breaths, the subtle nuances that we subliminally respond to as human beings. Just as we human beings respond to powerful "non-verbal" visual cues with each other, the things we say to each other also carry huge weight by the very WAY that they are spoken. As a student of psychology, I think I'm right!

Wordsmithing is the concept that "we're going to write the copy and edit it to the voice actor or artist" rather than presenting the copy in an "un-natural" way to make it fit the time constraints. We'll write the copy to fit, and then produce it professionally with no shortcuts. We will not use the mouse and software to "dress up" a bad concept and delivery.

John and Ralph worked for the broadcast division of Fahlgren Advertising, a top 50 advertising agency and later Ralph was creative director of a smaller agency and then pulled that portfolio into the Ralph Allen Media umbrella. Creative for advertisers differs slightly from this "imaging" that radio stations are doing today. Our interest is in producing excellent products that are clearly articulated, "natural" in delivery, and have the best voices available doing the narration.

Ralph Allen Media can offer the executive sales and management training that will make your executive management career sparkle. Remember that as a manager, your success happens through the efforts of other people and it is a recipe for disaster if you aren't prepared for that concept. Your authority comes from above you but your POWER comes from below you...on the corporate ladder.

Management is a skill and knowledge set that is no less intensive than programming a radio station, understanding formatics, as well as understanding advertising concepts. If you try flying by the seat of your pants instead of getting the knowledge base to function...you'll have difficulty as a manager.

The key elements are 1. Enhance or maintain the employee's self esteem. 2. Focus on the problem not the person. 3. Ask for help in solving the problem. (be sure you both agree on the definition of the problem).

Let us help you with success strategies based in psychology, management as an art and a science.

One mentor of mine, a senior vice president of Wendy's International, (a company I worked in management with twice a decade apart...had this on the back of his business card: "Obey the Ten Commandments" "Treat others like you want to be treated" and "Have fun!" That was his policy manual...his operations manual...his human resources manual...and his compass. That small policy manual on the back of his business card was all he needed to be an effective and wonderful manager. I added to that "Do the right thing because it is RIGHT!" So I added a small chapter to mine.

My other mentor, was R. David Thomas. I managed award winning restaurants in West Virginia and Ohio and he visited my restaurants several times, but he loved his managers and employees. He is credited with the phrase QSC Quality, Service, Cleanliness...in that order! QUALITY he was a fanatic about! R David was a visionary man. Before him...you had NO CHOICE in condiments on your hamburger! You got "cookie cutter" choices on your burger...mayo, catsup, mustard, and pickle...that's it...  I dislike "cookie cutter condiments" on my burger just like I dislike "cookie cutter" radio. How about you?

Demming was a guru that said that quality is the most important thing on the menu. If you have the best product, you will have market share and sales volume. Think about those concepts! I do every working day.

Do you have a radio station that just isn't dominating it's market? I've spent my entire adult life in some form of broadcast management. Problems have answers and I have assembled a team of people that have them.

As a "manager" of people, money, and scarce resouces...remember this..."Bosses" are universally hated and despised..."Mentors" are universally beloved and revered...what's it gonna be? Are you gonna be a Boss (horse's ass) or a mentor...(beloved and revered)...

It's in HOW you get your agenda done...need a shrink to help train your management team? Call me! For many years I was a very smooth horse's ass...at times...but I didn't need to STAY STUPID...eleven years in psychology graduate school taught me a lot about myself and others...I am a kinder, gentler human being...and I have so many answers...I want to share... I am a skilled manager and a skilled applier of psychology. I can save your managers a lot of heartache if you'll just call me. If you would call me ...that would be wonderful.
