As I sat in a huge lecture hall at Marshall University Graduate College and we started the study of neuro biology and I saw a neuron, and a snapse, and a dendrite, and the sodium pump...it hit me like a locomotive...IT'S A DESIGN!!!
It's a DESIGN! Now THAT did NOT just evolve! How did it get here? WHO designed it? Dare we say "GOD" designed it? Ponder that neuron and tell me if there is some other explanation! I look at that and believe that it is a design and one of the signatures of God. As I ponder the significance of being a created being, I share the thought with King David who said this: "I am fearfully and wonderfully made."
In the book of Job God asks this question: "Shall the clay say to the potter, who begat thou?" As God questions Job He says, "Where were you when the morning stars sang together?" *Note that until about 1948 nobody knew that the stars could sing! The invention of the radiotelescope shows that the whole Universe sings every moment of every day...the stars STILL sing the Glory of God! Stars make NOISE! They SING! They sing just like God said they did in the book of Job, and we could not hear them sing until the invention of the radio telescope...then what a symphony!
As I ponder my retirement from the airwaves and my jock career ends...and I focus on my production company, I pause and am in awe of the wonderment around me...and I look at my hand and know that there is God...so as that thought reverberates in my very soul...many are the mysteries of the human condition. May you find peace and contentment in your life's work and walk. To me it is a celebration of this incredible thing that happened to me...I got to experience a wonderful life with so many beautiful people that have walked this path with me and around me. That rocks! Radio was a wonderful love of my life and I am ever grateful for the experiences, friends made, and the listeners that I loved and they that loved me...thank you from my very soul...for that rocket ride!
