The Citation reads: "Through a special radio show from Opryland, USA in Music City USA a unique contribution has been made to radio broadcasting, and the Home of American Music has hereby conferred upon Ralph Allen the hallowed distinction of "Mr.Deejay USA", with all honors and priviledges pertaining thereto, including a permanent placque placed in the Mr. Deejay USA Hall of Fame in Nashville. Pamala K. Grady, Mr. Deejey USA Hall of Fame Curator.
I was the morning jock at Parkersburg's WKYG and I socked an amazing back to back 52% share and a 57% share ARBITRON and that same year was inducted into the Mister Deejay USA Hall of Fame in Nashville, with Gaylord Broadcasting's Opreyland Park. The honor was shared with my listeners as WKYG sent me to broadcast from the broadcast booth at Opreyland Park, and later an incredible dinner. It was a beautiful honor that I got to share with my listeners and that made the day even more special to me. Some of the best jocks in the country are members of this hall of fame, so this means a lot to me, personally.
*Keep in mind that this is a very PERSONAL honor and it was earned at a point in my distant past. We move on to new challenges and new qualifications and credentials. This honor is worth mentioning, but it does not define who I am or makes me anything any more special than being recognized by some people as a solid professional in a very competetive arena. It was a milestone seven years into my radio career...it means nothing to anyone but me. What it says about me is that I am a fierce competitor and I worked hard to be the best of the best at my craft...and THAT is what I have to offer YOU as my client.
